What we believe about...

...God

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

...Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is both true God and true man. We believe in his all-sufficient sacrifice for sin by his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection, his ascension into heaven and his coming again in glory.

...The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is one with the Father and the Son. We believe that he lives in every Christian believer and is the source of our spiritual life, obedience to God, and Christ-like behaviour.

...Man and salvation

We believe that through sin humankind is under God's judgment and is unable to redeem himself. We believe that a sinner is put right with God through faith in Christ alone, expressed in repentance from sin and commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ.

...The Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is the supreme head of his body, the Church, in which every believer is equipped by God for a specific function. We believe that the Church is called to glorify God in worship, preach the gospel throughout the world and build itself up in love.

...The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.

...Baptism

As a Baptist church we believe that people should be baptised when they have become believers in Jesus Christ, as a sign of their commitment to follow him. Though we believe this strongly we do not see it as the most important thing, and we are committed to love and accept Christians of other traditions.

It is the great primary truths of the Christian faith, as listed above, that have been shared by Christians down the centuries, which we most want to declare.
